After a visit to the local farmers market, Feria Tinamaste, founder Melissa Sweet will explain how her non-profit organization, Vida Auténtica, evolved from educating farmers about organic agriculture to building greenhouses for their graduates, to establishing a thriving farmers market for them to sell their surplus.
In just three years, the market has grown to include an astounding variety of fresh food, artisan products, and professional services. Since then, Vida Auténtica began hosting an annual Seed Exchange and led a grassroots movement that successfully banned the use of toxic agrochemicals in public spaces countywide. Pura vida!
