Eric: We’ve been going out to eat a lot since we got here. The food is cheap and ridiculously tasty. It’s so nice out and everyone is so friendly that it feels weird to stay inside. But today I really wanted to make a dish I frequently enjoyed in the states.
Papas fritas con queso, chiles, cebolla y prosciutto!!!
It was delicious 🙂 The ingredients here are super fresh and mostly come from within 100 miles from the table. Today’s potatoes, peppers and onions came from local farms. The cheese comes from Monteverde, 60 miles away. The prosciutto came from a pig that lived in Atenas. I totaled up what I paid at the farmers market and grocery store… $2. For everything. 🙂
