May 24, 2017 - May 30, 2017

Natural Building Practicum

May 24 – 30 DATE, 2017

Register here

DESCRIPTION

We have created this incredibly affordable and unique natural building opportunity for people who want a hands-on immersive natural building experience.

THIS IS NOT A WORKSHOP!

You will be trained to build wattle and daub earthen walls, which we will work on everyday except Sunday (day 5) which will be a day off.

The total cost of the practicum is only $120 and includes lodging in a shared bunkhouse and all meals except for Sunday dinner.  Please arrive on May 23, the night before the practicum begins.

We are making this opportunity affordable and accessible to everyone as we expect you to engage in full work days starting right after breakfast.  We will work from 9 am to 5 pm everyday (except Sunday), with an hour break for lunch. Participants will be expected to help in meal cleanups but not in meal preparation. On Sunday, brunch will be served at 10 am and dinner will be available at the local soda for approximately 3,000 colones (about $6). On Sunday we will have the day off and give people time to enjoy Mastatal and the surrounding areas.

You will be working with experienced natural builders and will have the opportunity to ask questions and talk about our experiences and opinions, however, practice will be purely based on building the wattle and daub wall system.

To sign up for this opportunity, please contact us at [email protected] and/or register here.
