Embracing your Inner Shadows

Embracing your Inner Shadows
A nurturing path to integration
with Raaji and Senja
This workshop offers a fresh approach to inner conflict through revealing the potential of shadows and meeting powerful resources. Whatsoever blocks one’s energy, emotions, beliefs, thoughts and addictions, is what is referred to as shadows. They are parts of oneself that are split off, disowned and battled against. The process of meeting and befriending shadows is a method for bringing them into consciousness and accessing the treasures they hold rather than repressing them. If the shadow is not made conscious and integrated, it operates undercover, becoming the saboteur of one‘s best intentions. Bringing the shadow into awareness reduces its destructive power and releases the life energy stored in it. Befriending that which has always been avoided the most, brings about a discovery of a deep inner wisdom and presence within.
This workshop will create a safe space to explore, express and give form to these forces through gentle inner work and meditations. Creativity, dance and movement explorations help to root the experience and allow a remaining integration in the body. Feeling is healing. Discovering one‘s felt sense and deepening awareness in the body is an essential part of this nurturing path.
This process is profound and transformative as well as playful and creative while providing tools that each participant can take away and practice after the workshop.
The program consists of two mornings from 7 am – 8.30 am in preparation for the full-day workshop on the third day.
Price: $130
Therapists
Raaji is a trained body worker and therapist and has been working with people since 1990. She studied several different therapy and healing modalities and Trauma Healing/Somatic Experiencing. Raaji is also a certified teacher of jazz, modern, and contemporary dance, and a trance dance facilitator. She has a long history of passionate study and practice of yoga, music and meditation. In the last 25 years Raaji explored various ways to work with the body and spirit, with movement and stillness, sound and silence, energy and matter. Currently she is studying with Peruvian Curanderos and their ways of healing. Together with her partner Karam, Raaji offers workshops to share her experience and passion for healing, love, meditation, art and working with people.
Senja comes from a dance background. Having trained in contemporary dance for three years in Zurich, she has been dancing professionally since 2007.
Besides dance, she studied many other movement forms such as yoga, feldenkrais, gaga and contact improvisation. The combination of this diversity of techniques and her devoted exploration within for the last 13 years have taken her all around Europe, Brasil and India and played an important role in her way of relating to the body and to her surroundings. This approach of feeling, expressing and integrating through the body allowed her to find stillness and trust in deep meditations.
Encountering the inner landscape through movement creates space to look at patterns, open up to new pathways and explore different forms of relating to the body. The ability to feel these diverse qualities the body is carrying such as strength, joy, rhythm, stillness and softness and express them in a safe space is an integral part of Senja’s work.
Sharing these ways with passion, lightness and clarity is what she loves to do the most.
