Aromatherapy and Hydrosol workshop

Come spend the day working with a cooper essential oils still to make a hydrosol and essential oil out of local seasonal plants here in Costa Rica.  While the still is steaming we will look at, smell and discuss whatever is ripe and plentiful, learn what are essential oils made of,  a little about their history, why and how essential oils work,  safety issues, look at a  list of locally available plants.

Discussion, Demonstration, Handouts, Blending and Distillation.  Fee includes receiving one spritzer bottle for hydrosol, a small amount of oil of essential oil, and handouts.
Cost:
6 hours –  all materials provided –  take home product   $80.

Teacher Bio:

Rebecca Wood MSEd, E-RYT 500, MFR, AromaTouch practitioner, Herbalist/Ethnobotanist, Reiki Master and Ordained Minister for the Church of Radiant Lights.
Rebecca offers her services as a Natural Health Practitioner, Yoga Therapist, Whole Food and Wellness Facilitator and directs Holistic Journeys an inter-cultural eco-wellness experience throughout Central America. Rebecca supports the ideal of “sense of place and a spirit of hope” and subscribes to the belief that personal action leads to real and lasting change, that slow-food, whole-food and intentionality are keys to personal and planetary health. Rebecca believes that goal setting, education, support systems and life coaching are essential to manifest wellness and balance within and out.

I have worked with herbs as a child when my grandmother made her Blood Poison salve for the family to use on all our cuts and then began working with essential oils extensively in the 1980’s when I was employed at the Aveda Corporation. I was certified in aromatherapy by Marcel Lavabre/ Aroma Vera and have since owned two companies that make essential oil and herbal products. I make and distribute Bienestar products with both herbal and essential oil formulas.
